Sea of Stars Development Details – Phase 2

The wait is over as Sabotage Studios announces the prequel of its 2018 action-platform video game, The Messenger. To everyone’s surprise, the new game titled “Sea of Stars” will be a completely new genre. Unlike the original it will feature a classic turn-based RPG gameplay.

Set over one hundred thousand years before the original, Sea of Stars will concentrate on two main characters, two children of the Solstice who’s aim is to combine powers of the sun and moon to preform magic, train and ultimately defeat the evil Fleshmancer.

Despite being a new genre, Sabotage has confirmed that this new game was inspired by the original and will still feature active defence options for turn-based combat and timed hits.

The developers of the new game have also spoken about their goal to introduce to the game a retro aesthetic combined with modern tweaks. One of these features will be an innovative lighting system which allows shadows—most of which aren’t commonly found in 2D games with pixel art. In the new addition of Sea of Stars, players can expect added freedom to explore new environments, something the team at Cyberpower UK always find exciting

New realms can be found using player’s ability to swim across vast bodies of water, climb cliffs, and even vault off ledges.

But before you get too excited about Sea of Stars, we are sad to say this game is still in the early stages of development. Sabotage Studio has confirmed that the game won’t be release until 2022 on next-gen console and Gaming PC.

One to stick on the to watch out for list.
